The availability and service life of tools must be planned for production orders. Tools that are not available must be ordered or purchased for production. Tools with an insufficient service life must be refurbished so that they can then safely complete the planned production cycles.
Tools can have a complicated internal structure. These tools consist of one or more tools that are connected. These are called complete tools.
You plan the use of tools and complete tools in production orders.
When posting the production orders, the tool management automatically logs the use of the tools when posting the actual reports. This allows you to track later which tools were used within a production order to manufacture products.
You can use repair orders to have tools serviced or repaired on a scheduled basis or in the event of damage. To do this, you use the repair orders. This maintenance is also logged for each tool and, if necessary, a new service life is stored with the repair.
The tool management saves this history in the tool items. This gives you a precise record of the life cycle for each tool. The "Find items" function helps you to find the posted documents.
