Manufacturing Master Data

This section contains description of BE-terna Manuacturing provided manufacturing functionalities related to Manufacturing Master Data improvements in Business Central.

Feature Description
Automatic BOM and Routing Automatic BOM and Routing functionality enables to automatically create Production BOM Header and Production Routing Header from Item Card when user decides so. Production BOM and Production Routing Header are created with Item No. as primary key - which is most common principle when both are created manually. This step reduce time to create Production BOM and Routing and therfore improves user experience.
Transfer Location and Item Category Codes from Item to BOM and Production Journal Transfer of Location Codes from Item to BOM and Production Journal functionality enables that Consumption Location Code is transferred from Item Card to Production BOM Lines and from there to Location code in Production Journal Lines.It also enables that Output Location Code is transferred from Item Card to Production Journal Lines. Both fields are also used for planning. In standard solution location codes on Production BOM and on Production Journal needs to be entered manually, which is time consuming and offers more opportunities for mistakes. Location code defulting therefore reduce user caused mistakes and improves user experience due to a fact that certain data is provided automatically and there is no need for manual entry, but there still exists possibility to manually change location code if required.
Default Data for Production Order Manufacturing companies normally use only one "Gen. Business Posting Group" for production Output and Consumption posting. Since blank "Gen. Business Posting Group" on Production Order (of any status) shall be avioided (to decrease wrong posting caused by not entered field values) users shall then always enter same "Gen. Business Posting Group" directly on Production Order manually. Defined default significantly improve user experience and decrease level of user caused mistakes.
Production Order Type It often happens that users need to split production orders to different groups, but there does not exist any standard possibility to split production orders to custom defined groups. Production Order Type functionality enables definition of custom defined production order groups, which can be used for different type of production order data defaulting, customized production order processing and offers new possibilities for production order analysis. One Production Order Type can be specified for each Production Order.
Automatic Item Tracking No. from In some companies it is required that tracking information of a product that is manufactured through a production or assembly process can be automatically allocated according to certain criteria. Therefore, we introduced new fields on the item tracking code card. Through this fields it is possible to set how the automatically allocation of or lot and serial no. should work
Lot or Serial No. from BOM Component to Output Item This feature enables the automatic transfer of a lot or serial no. of a main component to the tracking information of the output item in a production or assembly order.
